Welcome to my Undergraduate

Honors Portfolio!

2017 - 2020

“It's that mind-heart connection that I believe compels us to not just be attentive to all the bright and dazzling things but also the dark and difficult things.

Overview of Portfolio

Since so much of my UW experience was about strengthening the connection between my mind and heart, it was my goal for this portfolio to include bright and dazzling parts of my last 3 years in Seattle, along with some of the darker and more difficult ones. If you would like to engage with these reflections, I welcome that! Throughout my time in college, I have wrestled with many questions, many of which are as follows.

Mind: What is justice? What is equity? What kind of change is imaginable? What biases do I bring into my own work? How can conflicting ideas be simultaneously true at the same time? What is told and what is not? What questions can I ask to figure out this distinction? What kind of world do I envision? Where do I fit in this vision of the world?

Heart: How do I relate to others? What kind of relationships do I want to be in? How and when do I ask for help? How do I access my own vulnerability? Where do I want to direct my time? Where do I need to create and hold my boundaries? When am I my best? How can I decrease my judgment of myself and others? When am I brave? How can I trust myself more?

With these questions percolating, I try to begin answering them through the pages of this portfolio:

  • Reflecting - My learning statement is a holistic overview of the reflections and questions I'm leaving college with, both intellectually and personally. â€‹

  • Cultivating - For all of the impactful courses from my 3 years of college, I think about how each class impacted me. For several, I've also included writing samples.

  • Expanding - I have reflected on formative experiences outside of the classroom, including jobs, internships, and international travel, among others.

  • Sustaining - To end my portfolio, I have included my next steps and necessary gratitudes.

This portfolio is intended to help me intentionally organize my thoughts and reflections, and to share my experiences with my community. If any of these reflections spark anything for you, please feel free to reach out at any time - I would love to hear your thoughts. :-) I have also included my resume below as an abbreviated presentation of my UW experience.
